How do I navigate/edit sections of my CV?

Click on “My CV” on your dashboard, then click each heading listed in the row underneath to edit each particular section eg: “Career”, “Education”, “Profile” etc.

How do I import my LinkedIn Profile to Thirst4Work?

When you register on T4W, one of the first steps you will be asked is the option to import you LinkedIn Profile.  It is recommended that you do this step now, but this can also be done at a later stage.  Simply go to “My CV” and click “Import”, and give T4W permission to access your LinkedIn Profile.

How does the “Recommendations” feature work?

A recommendation can be compared to a good reference, but holds a huge amount of weight and is crucial especially in the short-listing stage as this will be the first information a potential employer will be able to use in order to get a better idea of you and your strengths.  Imagine yourself as an employer, with sometimes hundreds of applications to your vacancy and what looks like a load of good CV’s, but who do you choose?  We realise how important a recommendation is when it comes to hiring the right person.  It adds a whole new dimension to the old and one sided CV.  The more recommendations you have, the more you will automatically stand out above the rest of the active job seekers.  Just go to your career history and add as many recommendations to each of your work histories as you wish.  Your colleagues/employers listed will receive an email asking them to write a recommendation.

How can I improve my chances of being short listed for a position?

Firstly, ensure your CV is complete, and accurate.  Check for spelling errors as this can detract from a professional image.  Ensure you have uploaded your CV in Word format, and completed your online Professional Profile.  Ensure you have requested recommendations from previous employers and colleagues as this will definitely add weight to your CV.
